If I can hear the turbo spool-up everytime I accelerate, do I have a leak? Need new DV?...

My ride has 50,000 miles on it and its an 02' CVT 1.8T

It's if you DON'T hear turbo spool-up. . .

or if you just hear the shhhhhh'ing sound

lol i put a chip on my 01.5 b5 @1k the dv was shot at 7K miles..

so yeah get something thats gonna go the distance.

the turbo has to work alot harder and more inefficiently to produce REQUESTED BOOST if there are leaks.

boost means nothing, its all about the MASS OF AIR into the motor.

So if you have a leaking dv you can make 18psi of boost, but that 18psi might be only worth 14PSI on a car without the leak due to the extra effort necessary to make that 18psi.

maybe that isnt the best explanation. think about it.

get a good servicable DV.
