Installation tips for Splash Guards?
Can anyone give me any pointers? I got them from Clair Parts (front and rear) and was thinking of putting them on myself. Do the tires/wheels need to be removed? Any special tools? Some steps or tips would be appreciated. Thx.

Get some 3m protective film to put on the paint under them.
Otherwise, If you ever decide to remove them, you will cry when you see what they did to your paint.
Small rocks, sand, and debris gets caught between the mud flap and the car, and then slowly sands the paint under them.
I learned this lesson the hard way on my previous B5. I usually reccomend againt the mud flaps. If you plan on ever lowering your car, you'll need to take them off because they will scrape the ground.

Where can I get some? Re: Get some 3m protective film to put on the paint under them.
Thanks for the reply. On the B6, there is very little paint that exists between the splash guard and the body of the car. It's just a thin line of maybe 1/2 a cm width directly behind the tire. Will this still pose a problem?
Where can I get this 3M film? At an auto store? Is there a place online where I can get some? I've never seen this before.
I will most likely get my lowers painted in July, I might just wait until I put the guards on.
Thx again!

1cm is 1cm of paint damage... find 3m film at an Audo Body Supply place
You only need a scrap or two. Maybe try asking your local bodyshop.

Thanks for the tip! I understand what you mean. I appreciate it. I'll post some pictures once it's done.
