Default Just picked up my car from 50K service....

Things done:
1. 50K service, replaced oil filter with new bigger filter, no questions asked. Brought in my own oil, Mobil 1 0-40.

2. Had an oil leak, the cause cam adjuster. Replaced cam adjustor gaskets, camshaft tensioner, and replaced vacuum hose. Was told that this is a commom problem with this engine and that I should expect it to happen again in the near future. Has anybody had this happened to them?

3. Had my broken glove box replaced.

4. They did a bi-annual brake fluid service, bleed and replaced with new fluid. I never heard of this. The service manager told me that this is free of charge. Anybody heard of such a service, or can it be dealer specific?

Changing you brake fluid every two years is in the manual - it's an Audi thing.

I am surprised they didn't check the suction pump first to see if it was plugged for your oil leak. They have been known to plug up, and cause excess pressure in crank case, causing leaks. Replace suction pump, clean off oil, and recheck at later date. Very good success rate at taking care of leaks.

Audi pays for 1 brake fluid change during the warranty period. 2 year recommendation for service, not a mileage recommendation. If it hadn't been done before, probably better late than never.

Default I'm familiar with the oil clogging problems...

But since my first oil change at 10K I have always brought in my own synthetic oil. Eventhought this is the case, would that cause the pump to clog up, versus dino oil?

Yes it is possible, the pump/valve has a narrow passage.

Default Showed my dealer that, they said not free, manual states recommended!

These guys will change anything I ask for, except the brake fluid. They indicated that this is not scheduled service, just recommended at 2 years and at owner's expense!
