Koni Coilover Kit - Purchase & Adjustment Question (or Bilstein Coilovers?)
Once the kit is installed, how hard is it to adjust the height/set up of the car?
Do I just remove each wheel and do the adjustments with the coilover (shock & spring) still mounted on the car?
I'm assuming I do not need to remove the coilovers each time for the adjustment...
Is it hard to get the height you want? I'm looking to lower it about 1.3"..
What are the "ride" differences between the Koni's and the Bilstein. Based on price alone, I would prefer the Koni's (about $500 Less than Bilstein). I'm basically just looking to lower the car and keep the ride as near to stock as possible.
Who has the best prices on the Koni kit for a '05 A4 3.0? Neuspeed has them for $994, is this a good price?
Thanks...<ul><li><a href="http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_list.asp?app=20|AQ&type=2&ltype=ns _euro">http://www.neuspeed.com/products/product_list.asp?app=20|AQ&type=2&ltype=ns _euro</a</li></ul>

The KONI Coilover kit is designed to be height adjustable while on the car. This isn't the easiest task to do, due to the open pigtail design of the front springs. It's doable, but not as easy as it should be. Damping adjustment for the KONI setup requires removing the shock from the car.
KONI's will be a bit more comfortable than the Bilstein kit. If you're looking "to keep the ride as near to stock as possible" I'd go with the KONI's over the Bilsteins.<ul><li><a href="http://www.pure-motorsport.com/products/description.php/II=70/CA=197/PA=7">KONI Coilovers</a></li></ul>

Judgement call.
Stock shocks wear like many other items, pads, wiper blades, etc. They don't always wear the same for everyone, so it's not possible for me to put a time frame applicable to your situation.
Having said that, stock shocks generally suck. They're underdamped to begin with and made with lower quality components that wear out faster. Changing to new shocks on even a new car will yield a tremendous improvement in the handling of the car.

I have the Koni kit...
It sux, and is extremely hard to adjust on the car...
Get a real coilover kit with linear rate race springs and tender springs, or better yet, just get fixed height "cup kit' with eibach springs and Koni non-adjusable shocks and save a bunch of money and aggrivation
