Managed to reset my key...thanks to Audiworld!!!
Ok so i should have RTFM, but I didn't realise that these keys sometimes need to be reset.
Anyway just wanted to say thanks to the folks that responed to my earlier post.
God knows why these things need reseting...I bet the 3 series key doesn't need reseting!! <hehe ...couldn't resist>

Yeah - the unlock button on the fob didn't work
Apparently, this happens once in a while (not sure why) and the remote buttons don't work. In the manual it mentions that the key can be reset by inserting it into the ignition, turning the key to the first position and hold the unlock button down.
Go figure?
