new 02 A4, got a few questions(steering, wipers, v1)...
I just bought a 2002 Amulet A4 1.8TQ 5 speed with sport, cold weather, and xenons. I traded in my 96 A4 and am loving the upgrade. Here's a few questions I've got (after searching and reading up on some topics):
1. What type of power steering fluid specifically do I need. I know it is mineral based, and the local parts store doesn't carry it. I would like to avoid the dealer if possible.
2. My passenger side wiper needs to be replaced. What type of wipers should I get and where? I know the wiper arms have a bad habit of randomly breaking (happened to my friends car).
The local parts store chain couldln't help me at all.
3. I hard wired my V1 with help from posts of others from here. I was going to use a fuse tap but Radio Shack didn't have them. I used the vampire clip to tap the foot well illumination. I love the setup but the v1 doesn't turn off with the key out, even though the lights go out. any advise?
Thanks in advance

answers....
1. i was almost certain you can only use audi fluid for power steering... i picked up a bottle from my dealer <$20 IIRC
2. i've replaced the rubber part only on my wipers.... was like $6 and the rubber from AutoZone is thicker and better than the OEM rubber
3. i have a Passport 8500 X50 hardwired, but same concept... I did a fuse tap on the reverse lights/rear view mirror fuse... that is only hot when the car is on... so when you turn the car off the detector turns off

one more about thule racks
I have a thule rack set up from my B5 A4. I'm thinking I only need a new fit kit for the B6. Can someone confirm this for me?
I like the look of the audi lifestyle racks much better, but since I already have the thule bars I don't think it's worth the extra money.
