I have been following AW for a little while now and I just bought a 2002 a4 5sp 1.8t quattro. I am in love with it already and I have not had it that long. I want more power but I am on a budget. Any suggestions on some cheap and easy ways to get more power out of the motor? I want to do turbo upgrade in the future but in the meantime...in the words of Ricky Bobby; "I wanna go fast!" Thanks for any suggestions.

1. If you plan to go more than K04, get a REVO/GIAC kit and just buy the injectors and chip right now.
2. Just buy a K04 kit right now.

I've got stage 1+, and the only reason i don't go to k04 is because my darn turbo keeps on truckin'.

Make sure you've done all the maintenance before you mod mate. The timing belt engine death and brakes and clutch are uber expensive as-is.

Take care of the PM then mod.

But injectors+chip = first big bang.
RS4 sway and Short Shifter = 2nd big bang
GO BEFORE SHOW!!

Hi. Welcome. Best bang for the buck is a stage 1+ setup (chip + larger injectors). STFA for more.

I'm selling just the chip for basically nothing $100. You'd need new injectors which are the sticking point cause they run $800 new. I do have a contact that's selling them for $500 used though. That's $600 for a set up that runs $1000 new from APR/GIAC/REVO or $1345 new from Dahlback.
