OK, this is for the AMS 5 speed SS guys. I just installed mine tonight...
taking apart the shift box was the easy part and went by pretty quick. the hard part was the alignment, but I managed to get it on. I'm on Hole B=20 to 30% which still kinda feels like stock.
My question;
If keeping the stock **** and i want to get the shortest throw (i'm assuimg Hole C=25 to 35% should do), do i really need to make sure that the flat on the shift **** shaft is on the left side? If so, what are the best ways to get the dowel pin out of the shaft so I can put it on the other side? Would a pair of pliers work? Thanks...

I had to take that dowl out to use an aftermarket **** and tried everything in the book short of a
machine press...eventually had to dremel it off and buy another one to put in the other hole
