Default Question for DennisA4: The ABT apron for the rear bumper bar...

is it a replacement part, or does it sit on top of the existing plastic part?

Thanks.

Default If you mean the rear bumper....

The entire rear bumper is new. The top half is a new euro bumper. The US cars have a longer bumper that sticks out about an inch or two farther than the rest of the world. So you have to buy the euro bumper. Then you also buy the abt skirt for the lower half. Since the US cars rear bumper is all one piece, everything comes off and is replaced with the new euro bumper and abt lower skirt. Does that answer your question or confuse you more?
Check my pic poster for some good shots of the rear. You can see how much shorter it is than your bumper.

Default My car has a Euro bumper, so I would need the skirt only, right? BTW...

Do you mind me asking about the price?

I live in Australia. Last time I compared, a full body kit from Oettinger was a lot cheaper over here compared to the US. How do you compare the price between ABT and Oettinger, if possible, in the US market?

Thanks.

Default US pricing - including paint and install

Abt - approx $4800
Oettinger - approx $5880

This includes all body parts available from the respective tuners. Abt kit takes approx 10hrs to install including US/Euro bumper conversion. Oettinger about 8hrs.

These numbers are from AMS the Abt importer, and CEC, the Oettinger importer.

Default Thanks April. Gees why the prices are so high in States. I can get the Oettinger for ~AUD4000.(m)

That's about US2400. I hope the ABT works out cheaper than Oettinger in Australia (as it is in US). Funnily, the Australian distributer of ABT does not operate any more. Last time I inquired from the head office in Germany, they said that they will get back to me. Two months so far and no reply. So there is a potential problem with accessing ABT products.

Default Remember that is with paint and installation, not just parts.

As for Abt stuff, if you can't get it there, let me know, and maybe AMS can ship it out to you. They will have a new site, with info, but in the meantime, the parts are in stock.

Abt kit approx $2000US

Oettinger kit approx $3400US

http://www.advancedmotorsport.com</a
