Quick question

Now that im getting the car back with 4 new coils and a brand new ecu all under warranty, can audi send me a bill a few weeks down the road saying, guess what, we found an aftermarket progam on your ecu. pay us!?

How would they find it after you got your car back?

They replaced the chipped ECU with a new one...

Which typically means the old one is on it's way back to Germany for inspection to answer why it failed.

VAG sends the ECU to Bosch. Bosch credits VAG one ECU and tests the unit to see

why it failed. Finds out it is chipped. Charges VAG back for the ECU since it wasn't their fault. VAG notifies dealer that ECU was chipped and back-charges dealer for repairs/parts. If you were the dealer and you weren't getting paid for your work and parts, what would you do ?

Hey, after replacing all 4 coilpacks, why did they replace your ECU? Can they do that w/o asking?TIA

They couldnt reset it.

open the new ECU.. I bet it has a letter inside of it stating that it is against AOA policy to chip

my buddy had the same thing happen.. they wont charge you but you will have a warning letter inside the ECU most likely.. its crazy that they shove a secret letter inside the ecu itself !!
isnt it nuts?
