Default SPP TIPMOD QUESTION

Anyone who has SPP's tipmod installed, does the **** kinda move around after installation? Is this normal? Is there any tricks to get it to stay put?

Thanks in advance.

Default I've found that there is a slight amount of lateral and radial slop....

it is a slight amount, yet somewhat irritating nonetheless. I used some of the rubber spacers that came with the Momo **** to take out the unwanted vertical movement.
I haven't found a perfect fix yet

Default Is the TipMod required to be able to switch shift *****?

I know the Steptronics in Bimmers don't need it but I guess their setup is probably different. I know alot of guys just remove the stock BMW **** and put on a manual Momo **** and it works fine. Any thoughts?

Default Yes, some type of specialized adaptor is required that can attach to the shifter arm securely... (m)

and also accept a standard shift ****. Our cars have a somewhat fragile looking plastic piece that actuates the "shift gate release" function that needs to be protected by the adapter, otherwise it would break in short order I am sure.
I'm not aware of any place other than SPP that has that type of item.
It's pretty easy to install once you get the original **** off. I spent most of my time trying to figure out how to set it at the height I wanted.

Tip **** Mod info

Default What's the secret to removing the stock **** on a 2002 and up?

I've been trying on and off and I can't seem to figure it out. The instructions on the net refer to the B5 and Passat shifters which are different.

Default Just to be clear this is for a Tiptronic ****......

I would assume the 2003 would be the same as mine, but don't know for sure - I just followed the directions on the web for the B5 and it worked. The aluminum sleeve didn't slide down as easy as I thought. I used a flat blade screwdriver to gently push it down. After the sleeve slid down, I pulled out on the side button like the instructions said and pulled up on the **** and it came off. It was on there quite securely - I had to pull up harder than I thought I would have to, even after those instructions warned that it came off with difficulty.
Hope that helps
