YGM, do you have more pics of your LED tail lights? Do they have the black or red surrounds?

I think people are just self desctructive and would install one just to add another point of failure

Default Actually, we see a small amount of warranty claims on our ECUs...m..

not because of a defect, but because there is variation on how long people turn the key to crank to engage the starter. If they don't do it properly, they try again (and again), and in some cases partially flood the engine, causing a no start or a hard-to-start/long crank. We also see this in seasons where the fuel is changing (coupled with improper crank times).

So, since we (the automotive engineering world)can't educate the masses on how to turn a key, we need to find a way to take the human variable out of the equation. One of the methods for consistent starts is the push button, while still using a key purely for theft protection purposes (and not having to re-engineer the whole theft system).

Default oh purely for the kewl factor, it would turn some heads but be mostly just for that

although i guess if someone wanted to start the car they would have to know about the button...

Default any idea what kind of button this is?

The way I understand, there's two different possibilities: 1. you push/release the button once, and the car starts itself up. 2. you push and hold the button down while the starter engages, and release when the engine turns over, just like turning a key.

Is this mechanism in the button, or some other component? In other words, is this button just a button, or an actual aid to starting the car?
