Default Well, the good old H&R's finally failed me. story inside

So, after hearing people having all these problems with their H&R lower rear perches, I started thinking they were all nuts.
Here's what happened: I'm waiting to pull out of a gas station and go left which means crossing one lane of traffic. Road's crowded, so I finally see a gap and I romp on it. Just as I mash the gas, I hear the loudest !!<<BANG>>!! I've ever hear come from the rear of the car. Sounded like an axle snapped or something. So I panic, pull over, and can't see anything wrong. Then I notice as I'm walking around the car that the right rear is sitting at least an inch lower than the rest of the car. Turns out, the lower rear perch of my H&R coilovers just snapped. THIS SUCKS!!!
I called H&R and they said they don't deal with this, even though I mentioned that it was a common problem, and they have replaced them for other people, no questions asked. They tell me to call the place I bought them which was Tire Rack. So now, I have to take pictures, email them to Tire Rack, have them order the parts, I have to pay for them, mail them to me, put in the new ones, send the broken ones back, then finally get reimbursed!!??
I know of at least 3 or 4 other people that this has happened to. You would think H&R would be a little more cooperative considering this seems to be a recurring problem. In fact, they've even redesigned the perches, so they are fully aware that there is an issue! Just imagine if it snapped while I was taking a nice high speed turn or something.

Default Now consider that they're only going to replace the broken one....

Leaving you with another one that could potentially break. That should make you feel all nice and fuzzy inside.

H&R pulled the same thing on me, but I bought them from achtuning so they were able to call their H&R rep. I don't know what went on behind the scenes...but I know it took them an entire week to get the replacement part. So my guess is H&R gave them a hell of a time too.

I'm just glad mine busted when I was adjusting them instead of while I was on the road.

Default TireRack will take care of it, H&R will take of TireRack.

But I see your point, who will take care of the labor costs?
Whats the warranty on H&R's, I never really looked into it.

Default Dude, go run your car into a telephone pole and sue them for a couple million dollars...

they deserve it. I hate that king of customer service. Cheers! Mike

Default Update: I called H&R and they were not helpful in the least....

they told me to contact the shop I bought them from, and that there was nothing they could do about it to help me.....go figure.

Default what a bunch of jerks. we all know of the problem and theyve already admitted to it....

make sure you get them both fixed and then sell those pieces of junk. any company who does that doesnt get a product that stays on my car. get yourself some KWs. sucks man. cheers! Mike
