I was at my dealer today talking to the service writer. He stated Audi has made changes and upgrades over the model years to improve the strength and durability of the CVT. He went into great detail on which components were altered, but it was all Greek to me. At any rate, he said failures are pretty rare these days. So it does appear CVT's may be able to handle more power. This is just an FYI.
