I would agree if the lock/unlock button was hard to find..but it is in such an obvious place you cannot miss it, and at night, it is lit.
I am going to ask a friend at Audi tomorrow to see if this can be corrected with the VAG somehow....this is quite possibly the stupidest "feature" on a car I have ever come across!

Why do you want to lock your passenger's in?
Are you afraid that your front seat passengers will escape?
Kids should be in the rear seat with the kidproof doors locks.
The locking doors are to keep people out, not to keep people in.
