Mp3 issues?!?
My issue:
I have a 2GB Kingston SD card filled up with loads of mp3s...
most of them play (about 90%) and some of them do not.
I am trying to figure out why certain songs do not play (the interface just skips right over them). I have some albums (folders) where it will skip tracks 1-4, play track 5, skip 6-7, play 8 etc... very strange. and there is no consistency to which files it likes and does not like. If I can figure why it is passing, I can re-encode and avoid the error.
I have checked the following usual suspects.
Large File sizes: I can play 6MB files and it will pass on 2MB.
Odd File Names: Took out all odd characters and symbols from file names.. still no go.
CBR/VBR enciding - doesn't seem to make a difference.
Encoding bitrate: I can play songs at 320kbs and it will skip songs at 196.. and vice-versa.
I am stumped at this point.. My only conclusion at this point is that my RNS-E doesn't like Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, but is OK with AM and Being There. but I am pretty sure it is something on my end
Another Wilco song I have, crashes the entire system when I play it (I have since deleted that song).
Anyone else have similar mp3 problems?
I should try burning the offending files on a CD and see if they play off the CD instead of the card.. card issue vs. payer issue?
