Default Pulled trigger, returning from dark side...

After 19 uninspiring months in a G35x, I got a decent trade offer and took advantage of the 24 month lease program, to get back into an A4 2.0 (previous B5 owner). To my surprise, something came over me in the lot...being in the northeast, I've sworn off black cars several times, but I couldn't resist going for another black A4 (at least I'll use up the rest of my Zaino wax)...if only they would invent black road salt to keep the streets dry in the winter months.
I'm confused by the Clair site as to which rubber mats to get for the B7...if someone could provide insight?
Someone once posted here that the infiniti "has no soul"... a fairly accurate statement. If you have owned an Audi, it is probably not a car you would be happy with (more details available if anyone interested).
Thanks for the useful info here (been lurking for a while). Test drove the dsg A3...a freakin hoot to drive, but no quattro in the 2.0. If they would only configure that tranny for the A4...

Default Loving my 2005.5 2.0T more and more...

Previously leased a 2002 B6 3.0 6spd w/non sport suspension and before that numerous Japanese cars...mainly Mazda (Millenia S, MX-6, RX-7). Road feel of the B6 Audi knocked me out when I test drove it.

I think the B7 is improved over the B6 (sport suspension makes a difference, certainly). Picked it up end of July. Only 4200 miles or so on it right now. Seems like it took 1000-2000 to really break in/loosen up. Also sits lower now. Looks great. It isn't the fastest vehicle on the road but it is plenty quick and handles great for stock. Is very comfortable and quiet but will snarl when requested. I love the balance Audi has achieved.

Nothing against black but did I say it looks excellent in Arctic white? Hope you enjoy your new ride.

Just picked up my new b7 yesterday. See comments a few posts down regarding the G35. I REALLY WANTED to like the G35 - I think it is beautiful, and I actually love the interior despite what some people have written about it feeling cheap (I'm a sucker for the analog clock). But, even though on paper it should be amazing, it just doesn't work for me. I'm sure it can beat any A4, even a flashed one, in the 1/4 mile, but it falls short on the "personality" side of things. If the G35X had been available with a stick, I might have considered it, but I still think the A4 would have won out easily.

Default For the winter mats.......

The B6 mats fit perfectly.

I had the same question and folks here told me to go with the B6 mats. They were right.

In order to order the mats from Clair online I had to "pretend" that my car was an 05 1.8T.

If you list a B7, the mats won't be available.

Clair was great. I got my Clay rubbber mats in just a few days for $104 shipped.

I'm totally satisfied.

There's a thread on this a few pages back. Best of luck.

Default agree with G35 comments

I agree DalD. You just feel so much more connected with the road then you do in the G. I actually thought my G35x felt like an American "muscle car"... fun and fast...so long as your going in a straight line...after that, not so good...much heavier feeling than A4. I bought it for the engine, since it was to be my first slushbox tranny (slow commute no longer allows for stick), and thought the power would help with the transition.
I didn't think the cruddy interior would bother me, but it did, and I never cared much for the exterior. I was forever hunting down rattles...doors, windows, headliner, etc. AWD system is good, but couldn't get more than 20mpg. As far as build quality, the Audi is in another league. While the G has a nice engine, looking at the large size of the gaps (between the body parts)will give an indication of inferior level of engineering. With less than 25k miles, had worn out tires, and some suspension components-replaced under warrantee?!?! The G forums are full of complaints of squeeks, rattles, & creeks. I decided it was not a car I wanted to own when warrantee expired.

Me too...my "no soul" mistake was an '04 TL. My next (black) A4 is now on a boat headed this way.

G35 sounds just like my TL-great power with rattles, big gaps, thin paint and cheap leather.
