Gas smell when intake manifold off.
Hello,
Has anybody whos takin their IM off on there a4 b8, ever come across the smell of gas after? If so, where did the problem exist and was it rectified before putting everything back together?
Reason I ask, it because now, especially when I need to move the car (by pushing it), out of the garage and vise versa, thetes this strong smell of gas out of no where and its driving me crazy. Never was a problem until taking the M off to de-carbon the intake valves.
Just curious if anyone else had the ptoblem and what they did.
Thanks in advance,
Wes

You're going to get fuel spilling out of the fuel rail if any of the fuel injectors did not come out with the intake manifold. It air drys.
