Default Leather Seat Replacement

Hi guys,

It's been a while. The A4 is great, but I'm not happy with the condition of my leather. I bought my '09 3.2 in June 2012 with 22,000 miles on it and the leather had some wear. I've tried conditioning products and I'm considering a steam treatment to see if the leather will shrink back down to its original shape. Nothing has really worked. The car now has about 37,000 miles on it.

I'm wondering if there's a way to get my dealership to order me a new set of front seat covers. The main problem is the seat bottoms--getting that done would be great, but I'd love it if the seatback leather could also be replaced, so the hides match in wear. The car is still under warranty, CPO, for another year. It's probably not covered but the seats are creasing and stretching and kind of rough and dry enough that I'm really hoping they don't start cracking and ripping in another year. I've seen other A4s of the same vintage and mine seem to be in really bad shape compared. My passenger seat is in slightly better condition, but not by much. I'm sick of the shiny, stretched pores that only make sitting in my seat more uncomfortable in the heat. I'm constantly reminding myself not to shift in the seat so I don't stretch them any more. As well, I put a towel down after I go to the gym so my sweat doesn't dry the leather out.

Can anyone quote me for a set of seat covers, even just one? What about a set of new cushions? Should I have both replaced? I'm looking for no more than $750/seat. I tried looking on OEM part websites but the diagrams and information are cryptic.

Since the seat wear at 37K miles wouldn't likely be covered under warranty, it might be less expensive to go to a good auto upholstery shop and check their options. You might even end up with a superior material.
