Default Oil consumption?

I just changed the oil in my 2009 Audi A4 2.0t 3 days ago and when I went to check the dipstick after work today it shows under the minimum. How can this be? I’ve only driven 80-100 miles at the most sense then.

How much did you add when you changed it?

There's no actual dipstick for our engines, so I presume you're using the transverse version dipstick? That should be pretty close to the matching range. But is the car itself telling you to add oil?

Did you do the extraction method or the oil pan plug method? If the latter, did you drop the underside covers to see if oil was all over them?

A quart in 100 miles would be a new record I imagine if it was rings. And if you had no issues right before the oil change, ....

The dipstick was there when I bought the car. I did the oil plug method to drain the used oil and there isn’t any oil on anything on the underside of the car. There is a small spray of what could be oil that comes out of the exhaust when you turn the car on/rev it. It’s very small though.

Well, that's an obvious issue. What issue, I can't say for sure. And look at how dirty those tips are. It very well could be your oil ring is that shot. Or the PCV is shot. How long have you had this thing? How long did you go between this oil change and the prior oil change, and were you having to add any oil in between?

Seeing oil out the tailpipe to this level is sign of something significant, for sure. Have you checked the turbo?

its the rings ..... its not actually oil that is coming out of the pipe , as the plugs would foul out , it is actually water ( byproduct of combustion) mixing with the coked up exhaust pipes. This engine is beat, it needs a complete rebuild . The number one reason people dump these cars.
