Have to agree 100%. I just went from a 2010 A5 to a 2013 S5, and there is no comparison. The S5 is a completely different animal.

The A5 & our A4 were very similar cars. Very difficult to tell the difference from the driver's seat, as both cars had identical specs. Not so now. I love the A4...but I really love the S5.

Unless someone has driven both cars back-to-back, you can't really make an informed judgement.

My wife has a 2009 Avant and I have a 2012 S4,both are great cars,and I have always been a 4 cylinder "turbo guy",but when I went in to buy a new A4 the dealer had only automatics in stock,and I will never buy a auto Audi for myself. They made a deal on my trade in and I got a S4 for 51K,which is only 6-8K more than a S-line A4,not to mention the SAME price as a fully loaded A4 Avant!!!
I can agree,they are,on the surface very similar cars,however the V6 with super charger has INSTANT response and it is great for "stop-light gran-prixs,you can launch hard from a stand still and show your tail lights pretty easily.
They are both great cars,but the S4 is really something more special,from the gauges to the seats,to the sport differential,the eprformance is definitely superior,especially since the stock 0-60 is 5.0 and with a chip you can be in the mid-4's 0-60!!

hey, everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. I've owned and driven both. Right now I drive around in a 2011 P+ with the Ti sport package. Everything except for the engine and the differential (if you pony up for it) is exactly the same. I'm glad that you're happy with your S4, but as far as I'm concerned, the same playform with the same options and even the same friggin wheels (if you pay extra for the Ti package on the S4) is the same car. Calling then completely different animals is just not a defensible standpoint, and I'm speaking both as as consumer and an engineer. They might as well have called the car the A4 3.0, but they probably wouldn't have been able to charge as much
