Coding for turning on Audi Active Lane Assist (all cars with pre sense)
#1191
Just yesterday I coded according to your instructions.
but my colleague does not have the lever to turn on Lane Assist, does it need to be replaced or the coding changed so that it is permanently on?
Does anyone have experience without a lever?
Thank you very much for the advice.

There is no way to change it on/off quickly. There is a single code setting you can use to turn on and off, instead of undoing every single step, but obviously that still means you have to OBDII it each time you want to switch it.
This is an aftermarket unauthorized change, so it will be difficult to get someone to install a new instrument lever to make it work. It may not even have the electronics needed to make that switch work.
Somewhere else on this board there was an incredibly skilled individual who used an OBD connection and then hardwired that into a new button he installed next to the backup camera button. Next level engineering!
I keep mine on all the time. Sometimes when I bring it into the dealer I will switch it off so there are less questions.

It’s likely you’ve coded it in such a way that the system will only switch on and off via the button on the stalk. A button which your colleague does not have.
To over ride this technicality, the following coding must be added -
Switch-on condition, lane depart. warn. = Set value to “On” (I had to toggle this as this is the final step that I believe mimics pressing the button to actually activate it. You know it was successful when the Lane markings show up in the VC)
This turns the system on permanently. The only way to switch it off is by using the OBDeleven to set the above value to “Off”.
As said, the when activated, the lane markings appear on the virtual cockpit.
Hope that helps.

yes, exactly as you say, I probably encoded a button that my colleague does not have.
Could you tell me the channel number? eng xxxxx I have VCDS and VCP Pro.
thank you very much
