Buring Oil
I am buring oil on my 2013 A6 2.0.
Currently it is at 1 lit per 1000 km.
What are the possible causes. It has been getting progressively worse over the past 2 years.

1 liter/1klick is a lot, has to be a broken piston ring, or bad valve seals, neither of which I have see as posted as common? You racing that thing, mine uses no measurable amount of oil after 60k miles.

Thanks for the reply. I have a 2001 A6 - that doesn't burn any oil either.
I currently, drive about 50 km (30 miles) each way to work on the highway (not much traffic) - great for the vehicle and I would say that I rarely get the tac over 3000. So no racing.
My challenge, I bet the dealer is going to say it is out of warranty. I just passed over 160,000 km.(Had a 6 yr - 160,000 ext warranty plan)
So what are potential causes for this.... since this was dealer car for the first 11,000 km - if someone really pushed this hard - red-lined it whether hot or cold - could that have caused the initial issue - it just takes time to manifest.
Thanks for the assistance.

It could be related to crankcase ventilation issues. That has been an issue with VW/Audi until recent years. It had caused increased oil consumption and carbon buildup in the intake area of he head. You may want to have the PCV valve checked. It could also be scored cylinders.
