I've been trying to check my brakes and I can't even get the wheel off. The lug wrench that came with the car is too small (I think the socket is missing), none of my old X shaped lug wrenches fit either. I just received this thing from Amazon with a 14mm, 17mm and 19mm sockets and they are too small also. Does anyone know what will fit before I waste more money? I have the sport suspension and 18" tires on my A6

17mm. Check that you dont have plastic caps fitted on the bolt heads

Since they are gray plastic, they are hard to tell apart from lug nuts( which have a hole in middle). You should have a small tool that snags the heads to pull off. If you can not find it, use small pliers.

I will not use other tool that may scratch the wheel.
Get this set with a tool and spare covers.
I haven't bought it and not sure about color matching though.

Thanks everyone, I didn't get a chance to try the pliers but I'm sure the caps are my problem.
