Source?

The belt starter generator can, under certain circumstances, add up to 6kW of output/60Nm of torque for up to a max of 5 seconds. That said, I see no reference of what you are referencing on the EA839 engine. Can you please share further details in an official source?

From official documentation (SSP 664), it's actually up to 14kW at 51.5 volts for a max of 5 seconds or sustained 5kW output in generator mode.

All technical issues aside I just changed from a 2017 3.0T prestige to a 2019 3.0T prestige and I found the response of supercharged 2017 far superior to the turbo. Maybe I'll get used to in time.
The start/stop function on the 2019 seems to work more efficiently since it cuts in while COMING to a stop

It's actually a neutered system. In Europe, it can cut in FAR sooner than just right before a stop. I don't recall the exact speed but over there you can be exiting a highway and at 60mph or whatever it is, the car will turn itself off from THAT high of a speed. Unfortunately your (US) regulators don't permit this sort of behaviour so we don't get to play with that!

Switch on your fuel efficiency meter, and you’ll notice when driving on the freeway and your foot is on the brakes (like when approaching traffic), and you will notice the meter is actually indicating that you’re in electric mode and battery is charging while still coasting at high speeds.
