A6 front bumper issue
Hi there
My 1998 Avant met a rather high curb head on when parking a couyple of days ago. When reversing out, the bumper seemed to pull on the curb. It eventually came clear but now it looks as if the lower part of the bumper has "popped out" on both sides. I have tried to find how to "pop" it back in but to no avail....
Has anyone on here heard of removing these bumpers and how to do it so I can reinstate the smooth lines.

Most likely your guide has broke clips probably you will need to replace it,
in order to remove front bumper
you need to remove two bolts that hold bumper shocks to bumper reinforcement bar, you need to remove both foglight grills and you can see the bolt from the bottom, you need to remove it, it will be long bolt it is about 15 cm long
you need to access 3 nuts on each side of the fender that are located inside the fender to access them you need to loose the wheel housing
here is the photo

It could just be you have to bend the lower part out to clear the clips and then push it in. BTDT.
OTOH, if you take the entire front bumper off you can then see if the guide has been damaged...that's the **** way to do it.
