Default Finally installed Winter set-up

Here are a few pics of my new wheels & tires:
17-inch RS4 replicas
Continental ContiExtreme Contact: 235/45-ZR17

The reviews regarding the road noise were correct - these tires are quiet; especially compared to the Michelin Pilot Primacys.

Now I am ready for boarding in Tahoe!

Default Tahoe, huh? Going skiing I take it?

People usually head up to Tahoe for skiing and up to Reno for gambling mainly. I practically grew up in Circus Circus up in Reno when I was a kid. We hardly ever went to Tahoe. Oh well, have fun!

Default I've got the same tires... and I agree

Tire's are very quiet. At 80+ mph all I hear is wind.

I'll be going to Tahoe soon too and I'm curious how these will do in the snow.

Still, be careful. Extreme Contacts are not true Winter tires

Default Decent deal through the local America's Tire Co.

I was just about to order through TireRack - but decided to scout the local shop to compare prices. I was very surprised they had these RS4 replicas (made by Replica Alloys) for only $160 each - they even included OEM-style center caps. I was originally planning to get the Mille Miglia A1 from TireRack ($150 each). You can find your local store via tires.com

Default Snowboarding actually - mostly North Shore

The stock Michelin Pilot Primacys are not M+S rated; therefore, I needed a dedicated Winter set.

Default Walnut Creek, CA - just moved from SF (Pacific Heights)

I finally bought a loft property last year after living in SF for 14 years. Funny how you mentioned Filbert St. I lived near the Cow Hollow section of Filbert.

Default Tahoe meet anyone?

It appears a few of us will be up there over the Holidays. Sounds like a great excuse for a hot or frosty beverage to me...

I'll be there from Dec 26 to Jan 3. I will be staying at my place off Pioneer Trail in SLT and we could hook up on the slopes, or at a casino. If anyone is interested, drop me a note at TahoeEd@comcast.net
