I am hearing a bunch of pulling/pushing type sounds coming from my dash on an 01'A6 Avant. The sound seems to come from the center of the dash area, and I am reasonably sure it has something to do with the A/C being on or not. A few weeks ago, when the weather was more tolerable, the sound went away completely after the econo mode was run for awhile and then turned off. Now that it's unbearable outside, the noise is back. No leaking anywhere, ( I suspect a backed up evaporator hose), and no slushing sound even on longer drives (my previous experience with clogged lines). Any suggestions. I didn't find any reference on Stoney's links. Thanks in advance.

Normal I am most sure. This reminds me of the exact message I posted 2.5 years ago when I first got our 99 Avant. Still does it and never an issue. Made me chuckle when I read yours. Those servos in there can get really busy keeping climate controlled. Cheers Bruce in Victoria

Is the noise coming from the dash area inside the car or from the compressor/engine bay area?

Thanks for the replies, the noise is coming from inside the car in the center of the dash area close to the climate controls. If it turns out that this is normal, I guess I'll just have to keep the stereo turned up.

You could try blasting this with air from a compressor or air can.
