Ok, so I'm really beginning to hate my mom's 01 2.7T A6. This thing always has issues, which I get to fix.

At any rate, she called me today because she had an oil light come on. I'm not sure which light - if it could be low oil, oil sensor, or oil pressure, and the light is gone - so I scanned with vag-com.

No codes related to the oil pressure were in the VCDS, which I am not sure they would be anyway.

There were, however, 5 codes:

17862 - EGT Sensor short to ground.
17866 - EGT Sensor short to ground.
16486 - MAF signal low
16684 - Random Misfire
16690 - Misfire Cylinder 6

I had to replace the EGT sensors on this car about 2 years ago (approx. 40,000 miles or so). I hope they haven't gone bad again.

This is the same car that I had to replace a head on, and it has had a rough idle ever since. When I first replaced the head, the rough idle was constant on cylinder 4. I ran it with the vag connected and didn't see any misfires on the counter tonight but it still idles like hell.

I cleared the codes....but I'm wondering if the MAF would cause the EGT codes?

I'm looking for opinions on what could cause this and how to troubleshoot these items...thanks...

Just a bump in case anyone has any thoughts and might of missed it. I'll let it die after this if there are no ideas...
