Default Not so good Achtuning purchase experience:

So, against my better judgment, I decide to by RS4 replica's over OEM based on the significant price difference. I decide on Achtuning based on pretty good reviews/quality, other than the complaints about customer service that I read about.

Well, customer service is pretty much what was expected. I place my order 3 weeks ago for 18" RS4 replica's. I send e-mails looking for order status a couple times over the 3 weeks with no response. I call last week and they tell me they will be receiving their wheel delivery that week and the order will go out within a day or so after their order arrives.

I don't hear anything, so I call today. Turns out they filled all the orders but my order before running out of stock. Then they tell me 5 weeks before new delivery arrives.

I still have my damn snow tires on and it is JUNE!

Kindly, they did offer me the DTM's for the same price, and they are available to ship immediately. Hhhmmmm.....just not so sure I like the look?

Back to CS, Ted & Ben were pleasant to deal with when contacted via phone........

Shame on me for waiting so long to order new wheels.............

Is this divine intervention leading me back to OEM?

I had a similar problem with The Wheel Exchange last year. Ordered a set of OZ SLs for my summer changeover in March or April as part of a GP.

The 4th wheel arrived mid-July.

It wasn't really their fault, but if I had waited for the set...

I ended up on wheels that were supposed to be my track wheels, a set of BBS RX.

The good news is that I finally picked up my OZ SLs today, for my new (to me) car.

Default They have a very good reputation; but, I tried ordering something from them and received a problem

with order e-mail back. So, I drafted a e-mail questioning the problem. They never wrote back. So, I basically said screw em and went eslewhere.

Bought the merchandice with no problems. Go figure.

Default As of today there are only two sets of 18" DTM left

Unless you want 19" we have lots of stock. We will also have some RS4 18" wheels next week but they won't be the Hartmann. We are partners in another wharehouse and they buy from a diferent foundry than us. The good news is we can pull off there inventory. Bad is it's not the same inventory.

Wrong thread to be associated with, but we will do our best to right his bad experience. We do have the 19" DTM GB with the Yoks for $1750.

Call us if we can help

Default Go with the 18" DTMs

OK, I'm a little biased, but the DTMs are lighter and provide more brake clearance if you have the HP2s.

My wheel order experience was somewhat frustrating. However, I'd read about the communication issues and new what to expect. I get the sense that the Achtuning guys are really busy and that they are doing the best that they can. It worked out well in the end and I'm very happy with my wheels. I'd order from them again.

if you search the archives plenty of people have received crap service from Achtuning, myself included under the Lofwyr tag (I've since sold the wheels to buy a laptop for grad school).
