Smaller exhaust pipe diameter = more back pressure?

Default Smaller diam. means greater velocity...

that is why primary pipes on the exhaust headers are smaller. The velocity scavenges the exhaust out. Smaller pipes generally yield greater torque but suffer at higher rpm.

Only close to the head. As you get further away, it makes it worse
