Default side mirrors aiming down in reverse in a 2000 2.7T. i just noticed that only my passenger side side

mirror goes down when put into reverse and it does not do it everytime i put it into reverse just occasionally.

is there something wrong with my side mirrors or is that common. i thinking that the car is getting old and starting to break down.

any thoughts or similar experiences?

Default If the mirror adjustment **** is set to the passenger side mirror

it should aim for the curb when you select reverse. It is the only mirror to do so - and only when the selector is turned to that mirror. Used as a parking aid.

Default It's supposed to do that...

It's so you can see the curb while backing up... Turn your **** (the one that controls which mirror you're adjusting) one position to the left and that feature will stop. I think they discontinued that feature shorlty after 2000.

Default It's no gimmick - I can park closer than 1" to the curb *every time* - and have *not* curbed a wheel

when parallel parking...great tool.

In fact, I manually tilt the mirrors on the cars that don't have it!

What's funky is that the Passat GLX had folding mirrors several years prior.
