Default V1 - false alarm when horn pressed?

my V1 (old version - 3yr+ old, without the X Ka L LEDs.) is plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, and will fires a laser detected beep when the horn is depressed.

anyone else have this? does this occur in the newer V1?

Default My newer V1 did that when I first bought my A6-->

but only at night with the headlights on, and when I pressed the horn. Did that about 5-6 times over a 3-4 day period when the car was brand new. Since then, it's stopped.

Default Laser detector on my V1 responds to many odd things, including...

* Roadside "jumbotron" type screens
* Digital camera LCD
* Taillights of some cars and trucks
* Neon lights such as "open" signs
* My hand grasping the unit such that the palm aims at the rear sensor (sometimes)
* Myterious causes (during a cross-desert drive, it would go off every 30 seconds for about 10 minutes

Still haven't figured out the last one. There were no sources nearby, or in the car that I could see.... Possibly, the combination of a particular angle of strong sunlight, plus the LED illumination in the A6 headliner (my headlights were on during the day) caused it to trigger.

I looked for microwave towers or power lines, which sometimes can trigger detectors, but didn't find any. My V1 was almost immune to these noise sources compared to my brother's (another brand).

Default I've had the same "cross-desert" false alarms...really freaking annoying...

really pissed me off (multiple times)...that laser alert is "alarming" to say the least. There must be something in the air though, it happens in the exact same place each time I head toward or return from Vegas...it really pisses me off!!! Too bad there isn't a way to turn off this "laser protection" in these areas.
