I'm at 96,000 now, no problems...KNOCK WOOD... My last vehicle, a 2006 3.2FSI, had 140,000 before someone smashed her, and she ran great, although the timing chain tensioners were begining to rattle... On a side note, I was going to spend the $300+ and order the parts that night, then someone smashed me on my way to work... perfect timing, I suppose...

Anywho,,, as with any other engine... yes, there are inherently the occasional design flaw or faulty part that will cause failure at any given time, but...
for the most part, you get what you give; If you take care of your engine (frequently check and maintain oil level, change the oil, top-up other fluids, change spark plugs, filters, etc.) she will keep running! Although, I vaguely remember seeing a member on a German forum that had about 200,000mi on a 2009 3,0T... I'll see if I can find it...
I also think that you and I are better off with the 2011 models; the water pump problems with the 2009 and 2010 was adressess, and probably a few more quirks. I think I will forever more be sticking the the last year of a model run, as all the problems should, theoretically, have been worked-out!
