Default Aftermarket Tire Sensors

I have a 2006 A6 4.2 and I have aftermarket sensors that are supposed to be for Audi. When I go into the active stats in the MMI using OBDEleven, I see that tire pressure readings are there but still have the yellow flat tire emblem in the to of my dash display and also a low tire light. Is there no aftermarket sensor that will work? The Audi dealer stated this, but I just want to be sure. Thanks for any help or success stories.

R, welcome to the forum! Aftermarket sensors definitely work assuming you have the correct frequency. Also, some people talk about programming them before they go active.

Have you gone into the MMI and performed the two-step procedure?

I bought a set of aftermarket sensors and they are the correct frequency 433Mhz and I have a TPMS scanner so I can see they are reporting the correct air pressure, however my system is not happy with them.
Amazon Amazon
I have heard folks just replacing them and everything works, and I haven't taken my car in for this, but as a word of caution.

Thanks for the warning, daczone! My Audi dealer says it's because the sensors are not Audi sensors. I have heard of people using the aftermarket successfully so I know the Audi Dealer is trying to make a buck. I am ready to just disable the TPMS system altogether.

Thanks, uberwgn! I have gone into MMI and pressed the change tires button and also the store current pressure button. The low tire light goes out for a while but the yellow flat tire symbol stays on the top of the display all the time. Eventually the low tire light comes back on again.

Are you sure you bought 433MHz sensors and that they are Audi compatible? Also, verify that you have in fact equal air pressure ~36psi in all of them. FWIW, I've used these and they work great: TITAN TT-0011 433 MHz TPMS tire pressure sensors for Audi
