Differential Fluid change
Does anyone know what Audi's guidelines are for replacing the differential fluid on our cars? I checked the service schedule (attached), but don't think there is any information on this on it. Has anyone replaced this by themselves? DIY with pics?
I'll also see if the Bentely manual has any information on this.

Good Luck, I just did a DIY on my 1995 90 CSq for the tranny fluid change and I could not find any DIY's on this site so I just made one today after I was completed. The rear diff will be done this week end.

Similar to the ATF, Audi claims the differential is also a lifetime fluid. Personally I don't belive the claims and had it all changed around 35K miles, and will do it again around 70K.

Kevin, which brand of fluid did you use..M.1 or any of the other syn gear oils of the proper weight, I'm not sure what Audi uses? BTW, I have a motorhome that I changed to full syn several years ago when I realized just how much heat those massive gears generated.

Any of the proper weight syn fluids will do the job, but I'll ask my audi part guy what they use just in case they use something totally different with audi pure gold flakes in it
