Default A good deal?

I want to get a 2008 A6 4.2L

If is fairly well-loaded with options.
Technology package, 19-alloy wheels, s-line, Nav etc.
Has Bose sound.

Missing cold-weather package and back-up cams.

Dealer is asking 34k for 47,000 miles CPO before tax, title etc.
Car has some minor blemishes, but otherwise runs great.

What do you think; Is this a good deal?

This is the only 4.2 on eBay...cheap.

Don't be afraid to fly somewhere and either drive home or have the car delivered. I've done it on last 2 cars

at that price, you might as well just pick up the new 3.0T A6. If I was you, unless you really need a car now then look for something around 20ish, anything close to 30k is too much. If you can hang around till the end o this year, the new A6 will be out by then and you can save big on used.

Default Certified PreOwned

Benefits of a Certified Pre-Owned Audi vs. non-CPO Audi?

The dealer is advertising that because it is CPO it is worth the extra cash.

I'd just buy an extended warranty for 2-3k. I feel they are about the same.

That's a bit high. I just went through this same thing. Looked all over the country for a loaded 07-08 4.2 A6 to compare to one I looked at (and bought) locally.

I wanted an '07 or '08 with the interior S-line (08) as well as Tech and Premium. There are a few on Audiusa that are CPO's some 3.2's as well. There's one in Dallas that is really loaded but 50+k miles but they wouldn't go lower than 33.8K.

There's one at a dealer Wilsonville(?) OR that seems to be a good deal at 30K asking. I agree that you can skip the CPO and get the Audi Pure Protection which I was told is actually better. If you can get the dealer to remove the CPO they will usually drop the price about $2K. Figure on spending a little more than $3K for a 3yr/36K miles Pure Protection - but only if the car has less than 50K miles - and it might need an inspection.

Here are a couple I considered:

Oregon - this one seems decent- Damn just saw it was sold
http://www.tonkin.com/index.cfm?fuse...b-eeec5c9f4f97

Dallas - wouldn't go below $33.8 K even at end of month
http://www.universityparkaudi.com/Da...6355-used.html

In the end I bought a 2007 4.2 S-Line with Tech, NAV, Bose, sport seats, Premium, rear heated seats, rear shades, 42K miles for a great price. I had it inspected and I'll add the Pure Protection
warranty. Just picked it up this past weekend.

Let me know if I can help further as I spent a fair amount of time looking. BTW - there were big changes to the options in 07 and 08 - S-Line was STD in 08 but there was a interior S-line package that is very nice. You can quickly ID it by the three spoke steering wheel.
