Default radio and all audio keeps cutting out every 15-20 seconds, what's going on?

Long time since I had an issue with the car, but this came out of no where today.

I was driving along and every 20 seconds or so the radio or Dension 500 would cut out for about 4 seconds and then continue as if nothing happened. This happens ALL the time and I can't seem to do much to fix it. I did clear codes and reset, but I still have the 3 following errors. BTW, the battery is only 2 years old and would be surprised if it's bad and it read ok when I measured it. Also, my nav doesn't seem to want to accept my DVD after I ejected it.

0F-Digital Radio -- Status: Malfunction 0010
1 Fault Found:
02635 - Tuner Not Enabled/Activated

37-Navigation -- Status: Malfunction 0010
No fault code found

67-Voice Control -- Status: Malfunction 0010
Address 67: Voice Control Labels: 4E0-910-75x-67.lbl
Part No SW: 4E0 910 754 Q HW: 4E0 035 753 A

2 Faults Found:
00474 - Control Module for Immobilizer
004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00110100
Fault Priority: 5
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 231

02095 - Component Protection Active
000 - - - Intermittent

It so annoying driving along and having my music cut out every few seconds. Any ideas would be appreciated on what I can do.

BTW, when I ran the initial scan I had a lot of 61 battery regulator faults, but after clearing DTCs these did not come back.

Lastly, this issue seems similar to what I'm experiencing: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a8-...o-etc-2818112/

Well it got weirder, so driving this morning the exact same thing was happening and I turned off the radio, but could still hear something attempt to come "on" every 15-20 seconds. I then made a call, through the MMI and having reset everything to factory, the night before, the screen kept cascading through various screens (i.e. Radio, MMI/setup, etc...) and eventually the call went through perfectly. However, after about a minute the "cascading" stopped and after I concluded the call the radio functioned perfectly.

I've since then restarted the car 2 times and everything works great again: nav, radio

I hate to theorize, but I think the BT module had an error condition of some kind which the MMI assumed it was in component protection mode and hence why it was constantly attempting to reconnect. After making the call through the BT module, the module confirmed that things were ok and it essentially reset...even though I attempted to reset the module 3 time via my VCDS last night.

Had that issue back in 2010 and ended swapping the MMI control module under warranty

Raj, I had the same issue a few years ago. Are you surprised that I experienced an issue? LOL. Dealership replaced the satellite radio unit and it fixed the problem. I never understood why it impacted the other components. By the way I had the Sirius unit pre-merger. Good luck finding a fix.

To my understanding the MMI system runs on a fiber optic network. If the lights stops a one device the entire system restarts.

good luck

I have to wonder how Audi diagnoses these things given the complex inter-relationships of all the components. BT module and battery replaced on the 06 (in which the radio, nav directions, cd, or phone call sound would also drop out but for 10-20 minutes - no sound from anything and the NAV disc couldn't be read and was throwing codes - had to re-insert it multiple times until I got lucky). Then the CD player started throwing codes with no CDs in it. Again, all sound went off and the NAV display would slowly turn green as I drove. Never solved that problem before I traded it in.

But 3 C6's now and in all of them, the radios turn on spontaneously but only when I'm in the car. Doesn't happen to anyone else in the family. No codes on the 08 or 09. Very strange.

Well aware of that...it's a MOST ring which runs akin to a "daisy-chain" and have done enough trouble-shooting in the past, but I didn't find any MOST failures in my diagnosis.

Hi Kevin, no I'm not surprised at all, but not sure if you saw the second note - however the issue seems to have corrected itself. Perhaps a s/w glitch of some kind. Nevertheless, I'm no longer having any issues and the car is working great again. I believe it was something to do with the BT module and the car for some reason thinking it had been changed out and no available. Hence it was constantly attempting to reconnect to it, but when I forced a call through the BT it "realized" that it was there and may have reset itself.
