Thinking about extended warranty
#21
I spoke today with Terry from Burdick Audi in Cicero, NY. He gave me the best price on the Audi Pure Protection warranty by far, much better than my local Audi guys. As long as you get an inspection it doesn't matter if you buy the warranty from a local Audi dealer (Chicago for me) or from NY. The warranty is valid at all Audi dealers but they each have price control for when they sell the initial warranty.
I highly recommend talking to him if you're interested!

Mine is for 4 years 48,000 miles past original warranty taking me up to 98,000 miles I guess.
The inspection I got was a pre-purchase inspection from my local Audi dealer, they basically charge you $145 for the labor to look it over for an hour and point out what is wrong. In my case it was only a rear license plate lightbulb and a crack in some plastic. All I have to do is email him the copy of the inspection to prove there aren't any pre-existing conditions with it.

I made this post in another thread, maybe you guys know the answer. Doesn't the dealer you take the car into for servicing get reimbursed by Audi for the repairs that they do to your car under the Pure Protection Warranty? If this is the case then that would mean they would want to be servicing your car, making it more likely to point out all the things they could fix? Seems to me that if they get reimbursed they will try to make more repairs, in turn good for the owner of the car with the warranty. Does anyone know if this is the case?

When I purchased my S6 2 weeks ago I was told I couldn't get an extended warranty by the dealership.
FWIW - I purchased a new 08. No telling how long it had been on the lot - but had never been titled with 130 miles.
I would like to obviously reduce my exposure to additional costs if possible after the initial warranty expires.
TIA for any help.
