Coding to disable some annoyances
Looking to make a few changes to a 2018 A7 to get rid of a few annoying things for my dad. Never coded an AUDI before but game for buying the VCDS cable for coding.
He is hoping for these things:
1. Disable Start/Stop. He hates having to disable it every time he turns on the car. Either wants it completely disabled or at least remember his last choice. He is retired and doesnt drive that far or often, so its acutely annoying to him.
2. Disable the seatbelt chime. He wears it but sometimes not in the hood or in a parking lot.
3. Would like to have the media screen not come up automatically, he doesnt usually listen to the radio. Its oK if it came up with the radio or for backing up but not every time he starts the car.
4. Is it possible to have the navigation screen the default thing to display in the instrument cluster instead of a digital speedometer? Likes having the little map running while driving, even if not really navigating.
Ive done some digging and the only one I consistently saw was the start/stop but most is about earlier versions of the car and some of it is all over the map, like it was only temporary, only when the AC was on, whatever. Was hoping someone found out what works for the new A7 and the most correct route.
For the start/stop, which is the main function he wants rid of, Im seeing a lot of talk that its ONLY through the AC coding where you can have it not shut off while AC is on, which would help since he hates that the AC shuts off.
But then I saw this:
Disable/memorize/invert Start & Stop:
- module 09-Cent. Elec.
- enter Security Code (20113)
- Adaptation on Channel 34:
subtract 4 to the value --> Start&Stop always disabled
add 32 to the value --> memorize last status (the Start & Stop status at engine startup will be the one at last engine shutdown)
- test & save
In addition of these values, if you add 64 to the value, the Start & Stop button light will be reversed: off if Start & Stop is disabled, and on if Start & Stop is enabled
From this thread where they had collected a lot of options:

The issue is looking through it looks like there is a lot of conversation regarding a C7 and a "C7.5" so I still haven't seen anything specific stating it works on the face-lifted models.
I rid my 2016 A7 of the seatbelt chime and flipped the default auto stop feature to default as off. None of it has anything to do with the AC being off or on.
Also, there’s a ton of other options you can toy with.
