Those interior shots look sweet. Love the quilted leather, contrast stitching, and carbon dash bits.

this is totally my assumption, but i looked at the photo closely and i think the redline is digitized - meaning it will change. I am guessing it has to do with their new “cylinder on demand” cylinder management system. ?
I am pretty sure Audi wouldn't release official photos with wrong redline, especially on performance-focused S7.

You weren't completely crazy in your line of thinking. The redline is a light on the dash (as opposed to a painted on red area on the tach) and it could be some sort of display mode that it was set up with for the pictures.

You are correct. The redline on the new A6 and A7 are composed of red LEDs. So it looks like on the S7 the redline changes according to certain parameters that we don't know yet. Our A6's and A7's have a static redline.

you are probably right, cars isn't warmed up as of yet when the picture is taken

My best guess is that it's a "variable redline" that uses LED indicators similar to the BMW M3 tachometer -- i.e. the redline starts out low when the engine is cold and gradually increases as the engine warms up.
