I expect the variable red line alters depending on whether the S7 is running in 4 cylinder or 8 cylinder mode.

I think those are excellent guesses, as long as the cars come with most of their respective "A" counterpart's optional equipment as standard. With the S7, the closest competition will be the CLS550 and the BMW 650i Gran Coupe, although the S7 will clearly be geared more towards sportiness than either of these two competitors. The base price of the CLS550 is in the low 70s and you can get a very well optioned CLS550 for less than $80k if you get a good discount or do european delivery. The 650i sedan is rumored to be about $7500 cheaper than the 650i coupe, so that will put its base in at around 75k. Marketing the S7 at a price point of 85k could be hard for Audi unless it comes standard with most of the optional equipment of the BMW/Mercedes.

Well the last S6 had all of the options and a V10 was 77K. The only options were sunroof and sunshade etc. Given the track record for the S model having all of the prestige equipment and a smaller engine...IMHO those numbers are very close to the price....Or within a grand or two.

Do you own an Audi?

Interesting. I was focused on leasing a fully loaded A7 at some time. That is already above $80K.

Now if the S7 has more if these options standard, a lease of an S7 might not be that much more.

Default Audi Connect in S7?

Wondered if anyone else noticed this in the S7 press release:

"including the Bluetooth online car phone that connects the S7 with the Internet"

I wonder if Audi is moving away from having a SIM card in the dash to a system that uses Bluetooth tethering to connect to a smartphone for the Internet connection? (A wifi tethered system would seem to make more sense).

Odd.

This is the European version. The A7 connects to the internet the same way.
