Default front plate

i have searched on the forum for the parts required to install a front license plate, but i am still confused. i have a piece (the bracket?) that looks like it pops in place after the cover is taken off the front bumper.

before i go trying to pop off this front cover, is there anything to be aware of? how is it mounted?

i would assume that the license plate bracket goes in place of this cover and it is held on by the screws with the license plate - is this the case or is there other parts needed, such as a spacer pad or something?

any step by step help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!
jk

Default Just did mine

The standard european plate insert is held in by tabs that clip in under the bumper cover on top and bottom. These are in the exact same place as the ones in the US plate holder, sans the two that hang down lower because of the depth of the US plate. So, if you insert a narrow flathead screwdriver in where the tabs are and push up (if inserting on the bottom of the European cover) the cover will pop out a bit. Work your way across the bottom, with those removed the top tabs will release the cover as you pull it down and out. Use the reverse procedure with the US plate; that is insert the top first then push in on the bottom starting at one corner and moving across until it locks in. Hope this helps.

Default there's also two bolts in the bumper which should fit right through the US plate holder

That should give additional support
