What are the common problems on the A8? It seems like a pretty reliable car, but would like to know more before actually test driving this particular car with about 44k miles on it.

Its the facelift model and has many different things too it

Exterior

Integrated antenna into back glass
Full chromed belt line
Integrated headlight washers
clear headlights
integrated fog lights


Engine etc...
all aluminium suspension
updated engine, bump in 10 horses and 12 torque(not sure exact on the torque)

Interior
updated armrest
higher res dash computer screen
door lock/unlock on passenger side
better seats
Revised gauges with white tack and speedo needles
revised center stack with cleaner look and higher grade buttons and space on the top main switches

There are some more Ken but this is what i can think of, off the top of my head. went from a 99 A8 to an 02 S8 so i can remember the difference between them quite well

My car has no such button - the passenger must pull the door lever once to unlock, then again to open. No lock button, either. Why the Audi engineers decided to do this (and why they make me open the door to get to the trunk release button) is a mystery to me, but it's still a great car.

Go with the 00+!
