On my 99 A8, is my driver's side glass double insulated or was that a facelift feature?

Most were dual pane glass
Just roll down the window half way and you can feel the two pieces of glass at the top.
My 97 was one of the few that I have ever seen without dual pane.

Woah, shattered a dual pane :(
The windshield is pretty strong though, I have had fairly large rocks hit it at highway speeds and it only got chipped. Just waiting for it to break.

Does this mean that it is harder for the bad guys to break the glass?
I've always thought that, and when I saw your pics I realized they were laminated. Nice safety feature.
