pin striping - a little long
I would like an opinion from the board...
I managed to clip the corner of my house this weekend and put a crease about 4" long which crosses the horizontal line in the door. I the paintless guy at the dealer take a look and I was told that there's nothing I can do (too high up on the door). I already got an estimate of $1,200 to fix the door, respray it and blend it into the back door. The body shop told me that they would take off both doors, glass, etc. to fix. None of this appeals to me and it's not really THAT bad. So, I had a brainstorm. I took about 3' of pinstriping and put in on the car. It's just distracting enough that you don't notice the crease at all. I think if I used a double, very thin stripe it would work. My question is, has anyone pin striped an A8 AND
what's the consensus on how it would look ?
Thanks !
Bob

Re: pin striping
There is a pin stripped 2003 A8L right outside my window at work. There are not many, however, IMHO opinion it makes a very unique car look even more unique and special.
I will try and take a picture of it and post it tomorrow

I don't like pinstriping on german cars.
Pinstriping started (in my best recollection) with muscle cars of the early 70s. Now it's mandatory on every midsize Japanese car. I feel about pinstripes the same way I feel about gold emblems on a german car, what a great way to turn a fine german machine into just another sedan.
Having said that, in your special case it might improve the look of the car.
