Default Pinout Diagram for CD Changer 1997

Can anyone help me out with a pinout diagram for the 1997 A8 CD changer in the trunk? Thanks.

Default This should do the trick for you

This is all out of the Bently, the proper way to do this if you are going to cut the cable in the trunk to install your iPod is to do continuity checks from the back of the radio to the pins on the CD cable in the trunk before cutting. But you see there are also color codes.

I do not take responsibility for the accuracy of this information. Good luck with the install! Take some pictures, I like your idea!

You'll want to hook the iPod into pins 18, 19 and 20.

Thanks. I may not have to cut the cord. I found a guy (a guy named joel at the r.f. connection at www.therfc.com) who is trying to find the male and female 8-pin plugs to fit our car. If it works out, I'll be able to insert my rig in between the CD player and female jack in the trunk. No wire cutting (nice, especially if the whole thing ends up not working). I've got a general outline for the wiring (above), including a switch in the armrest. I'm definitely an amateur and don't want to blow up my car, so let me know if it all looks reasonable. Only problem now is my power adapter (a bit big). Do you have any ideas for a 12 v to 5 v convertor that wouldn't take up too much room in the armrest?

Default Maybe you should consider a new drawing?

After a quick scan of your drawing, it appears you'll be alright...but you should consider redrawing it now that you have all the components and wires laid out.

Use a ruler and a pencil and make it neater....it will be a lot easier for you during your install with a nice drawing....that post it again and I'll second check it for you.

Too many scratch outs on that thing for me....and where is the revision number and title block??? ;-)

I have a 98 A8 D2 w a Symphony 1 system. The CD changer has been removed but the 13 pin DIN is in the compartment where it was. I'd like to use the CD line level inputs for my bluetooth adaptor but the head unit is not recognizing anything connected - mode switch does nothing. Is there a termination that has to take place? How does the head unit know if a device is connected? Thanks
