Default Rear Brake Issues

Newbie to Audi family.... Please forgive stupid questions.
2000 A8 rear brakes appeared to be not working, could not get calipers to actuate. Replaced calipers and pads, bled brakes and they appeared to be working fine. However a couple of months later again appear to be not working, yet calipers don't appear to be frozen or stuck. Is there something I failed to do when I replaced the calipers and bled the brakes?

If it matters, fronts are 312mm & rears are 245mm

Also, being this is a daily driver.... is it worth upgrading to larger brakes? (It's all stock, no performance mods)

Thanks for your time,

-mike

Does your emergency brake work? If it was anything like mine, I had to completely rebuild by rear calipers because the previous OWNERS never set the E-brake which allowed a ton of corrosion to lock up the engagement mechanism. Second, you will need a VAG-COM to cycle the ABS motor. Only by cycling the ABS will you be able to complelely eliminate any air pockets in the lines. You will need to cycle the ABS, then do another bleed. You should also check out using the "brake block." I made mine out of a small piece of 2x4. Brakes work much better. https://forums.quattroworld.com/a8/msgs/5713.phtml

Actually, you do not need to cycle the ABS motor to bleed the brakes. That is only necessary if the brake system was run dry and the ABS was cycled when the reservoir was empty. A normal bleed will remove all air from the system.

My son drives the car most of the time, so I'm guessing the E-brake doesn't get a lot of use. Long weekend coming for the 4th of July, so I'm hoping to dig into it again and hopefully get some resolution.
Thank you both for responding; I'll post the outcome next week.
