Tire choices; Can you please post the A8 tire table?
Need to replace my 17" stock goodyears. I remember excel sheet or table that had the choices and recommendations. Can you please post it as I looked and could not find it, Any recent inputs on tires which best reduce road noise would also be appriciated.

Thanks Randy. Couple more questions.
I currently have 225/55-17 on.
1. Is there any good reason to go go to a wider tire (Ride comfort and road noise more important for me than handeling)?
2. Any strong opinion on Mich pilot sport vs Bridge Potenza S-03? While Michelin is more expensive, it is the only tire our Costco carries and their prices are excellent ($204 per tire total vs $180 total for S-03 in town).

Couple more answers ...
.
1. Even if you go to a wider tire, you normally don't want to change the overall diameter, if for no other reason than to keep your speedometer accurate. In your case, you could go from the 225/55-17 to the 245/50-17 with the same wheel. And since you don't change overall diameter, you'll maintain the sidewall height and won't affect ride comfort. The benefit -- better handling and a much better (more agressive) look.
A quick check on TireRack shows only the PZero Asymetrical available in this size. I think PaulW has the 245/50-17 PZero on his car, and I believe he has only good things to say about this tire. Paul, care to comment??
2. Regarding the S-03 vs the Pilot Sport -- I've never driven on the Michelin or the PZero, but I can understand how the S-03 received it's score in the TireRack reader survey (see the link in my "Well" post 3 threads down), where it ranked #1 overall out of 16 max performance tires. The S-03 is a really great tire.

Pzeros, can't pass up a deal like this! (Updated Link)
So a set of four tires just got on ebay today, perfect size, my tire, with 50% tred. Don't think you'll use this tire for winter, cause it won't work.
But any of you (Moe, you might want to buy it now right away!) want these tires to try out a 245 on your 17" wheels, you won't do it cheaper than this. BIN for $245, and it's about $45 to ship these things almost across the country.
Go for it, try them out (you'll love them and it won't cost you $1200 to try them out) and if you don't like it then get rid of them.
I love my tires! Stick really nice. I would almost buy this set but mine aren't really worn and I don't have any place to keep them.
Additionally, with high performance tires, plan on replacing them MUCH sooner than with non high performance tires. No more than 2 seasons I imagine.
Try them out, you won't regret it!<ul><li><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1859227820">245/50/17 Pzero's on Ebay for $240!!!!!!!</a></li></ul>

I am sold on Michelin PS
I bought a set for my A4 (225/40x18) the summer of 2000. I have 35000 on the car, probably 28k or so on the PS (I have winter tires). I ran the quattro challenge in 2000 and autocrossed last summer with them. They have stayed balanced, still have good tread left, stick like glue in wet or dry and are moderately quiet (the Dunlops on our S8 with 10k on them make a LOT more noise). I will put another set on the A4 when these wear out and we are ordering a set (245/45x18) for the S8.
My experience with Bridgestone is mixed. I love the Blizzak LM22, but the older ones we have for the Eclipse handle like jello and wore down fast. I like the Duelers we have on our RAM truck. I have read any number of complaints about the Potenza and blistering on S4, but have no first hand experience.

If ride comfort is more important to you, you DO NOt want to get
a wider tire. The wider tire will have a harsher ride, and will
tramline more than the narrow tire.

Both tires are excellent. The Michelin will last longer, the Bridgestone
will offer better handling (until it wears down).

I agree on the Pilots. Noisy and a bit harsh, they handle incredibly well.
We have Toyo Proxes T1S and like them very much. Not quite as extreme for noise or harshness, but feel and stick almost as well.
We also have the S03, but feel they are just as harsh as the Pilots without offering as good a feel or grip. Evo car magazine did a tire test, and didn't like them very much. I would have to agree, although our heaviest car weighs only 3400lbs, and that may make a difference.
The Dunlop SP8000 is a good budget tire, but beware that the 9000 does not stick as well, nor offer as good feel as the 8000.
