Default Man I wish I had yer "probs" Ben! 8-) haHA! That's..

..._too_awesome_ of a score you landed there - affordable / local??? You *dawg*!

FOUR sets of wheels you have? Or you sell your OE Avus? What winters you run?

Man, when I was trying to source my Euro Avus I was getting them thrown into a parts crate from f'n SWITZERLAND - you, you trip over yer ***** and find them next door. And they were going to be somewhat pricey due to the import / currency / etc. Again you *dawg*

Againagain you *dawg*.

And now the debacle you've spun yerself - things that make you go hmmmm.

Mebbe wear your 19's out, then run the Euro Avus'... but you got to run them with 15mm spacers remember, maybe even 20mm.

What the 19's weigh anyway? My biggest complaints with the Avus' is their porkitudely 26lbs per (or 28 I forget!?). Plus spacers. I picked up a few tenths of mpg's (hey I'll take every 100th) running the RXII's.

But, agreed 100000%... _oh_the_look_ of Euro Avus'. And you simply MUST go source yerself some TT or the like centercaps yes! Try it and see 8-).

In the end I'm happy with my BBS's as they're a good amount lighter than Avus AND they're 8.5" (and et32) - but - if I were in yer shoezez there, I'd def. rock the Euro's. Despite how sexay yours does look mit dem '19s, yeah.

Euro Avus mit TT centers mit spacers - FTMFW!

Def. tough call but that's the way I see it. Report back! Looks like you're keeping your car then I'd say 8-).

And hey - hope you're bambino project there is progressing along nicely for ya!

Default tough call, my 99 would love euro speedlines hehe

I do love my current rims however... I also have a track set of B5 S4 Avus rims with wide 245 P Zeros on them. Only problem is that I have yet to hit the track here in the Northeast.

Anyone want some meaty P Zeros for the track, with or without rims?

Default Yeah, I know have problems.....

Affordable? I suppose. They weren't cheap, but with the price of shipping what it is these days, the "local" factor gave it the appearance of being a good deal. I love going broke saving money anyway, so it kinda works out. :-)

FOUR sets of wheels.....oh how I wish that was true....at last count I had about 11 sets of wheels, but that is me just being prepared for ALL situations in all the vehicles I own. :-) ....for the S8 though, I now have 3 sets: the 19's in the summer, the 17's in the winter and now the Speedlines. The OEM Ronal S8 wheels went bye-bye in a big ole' hurry.

The 17" snows are A6 4.2 "Fat Fives".

You thought that buying those wheels back when you were looking was bad, try doing it today with our crappy dollar/euro exchange rate. Oh how I miss the days of the strong dollar and the weak DM and buying genuine RS2 exhaust manifolds for $275/ea....*sigh*.

I guess I would prefer to NOT wear the 19's out as that would make them less than appealing to the next owner who has to buy rubber.....and I would be sitting on the Speedlines for a couple years waiting for the 19's to wear out and I may just get a little too inpatient to wait that long.

Spacers.....HELL YEAH! The day after we bought the car, I slapped 15's up front and 25's in the back. The picture I posted of the car with the US-Spec Avus wheels has those spacers behind them.

Alright, the center caps.....I just can't do it mang....I really don't like them. I know that is a popular "upgrade" for those wheels....so popular in fact, that the wheels I bought came with them....

<img src="http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa294/coloradoaudi/S8_w_A6Cap.jpg">

I just can't get into them though. They are little too "mechanical" for me and I like the more "organic" lines of the domed cap. They suit the wheels and the car a little better in my opinion. The above caps are A6 4.2 "Pie Plate" center caps, FWIW.

Yeah, we be keeping the car fo' sho'! I never WANTED to get rid of it, but I also never wanted to go into debt to buy a mini-van. How bad would THAT suck?!?!?

Yeah, the bambino is cooking along well. Trying to get a home remodel project done, so we can ALL have a bedroom, but I've got time.....oooops, kiss of death!
